Robert P. Crowder, Sr. 82 of Ravenna, formerly of Deerfield, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born June 15, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Roy P. and Ethel B. (Mackley) Crowder. Mr. Crowder was a US Navy veteran of WWII and a millwright for Transue and Williams in Alliance, Ohio. He was a member of the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department , Thousand Trails Campground and the Gold Miners Association. Survivors include his daughters Juanita Wright of Anchorage, Alaska, Marie Wright of Stow, OH, and Dawn (Dominic) Bellino of Ravenna, OH, son Robert, Jr., of Newton Falls, OH, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and brothers John Crowder of Newton Falls, OH and Reverend Donald Crowder of NC. He was preceded in death by his wife Dixie Lee, son Michael A., 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson and a brother William Crowder. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday May, 18, 2010 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel, Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. William Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Mottown Cemetery in Deerfield.
