Robert B Dove

December 2, 1934 — May 4, 2020

Mantua Twp

Robert B. Dove, "Bernard", at age 85 was called home on May 4, 2020 to be with his Lord and Savior. Bernard was born in Princeton, WV to the late Homer & Hallie (Comer) Dove. He was the beloved, devoted husband to Jane for almost 60 years (married June 19, 1960). Bernard was immersed in the Christian life at an early age that would become his life-long dedication. He was a former member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Bedford & the Streetsboro Church of God.

Bernard, a resident of Mantua Twp. since 1969, retired from Republic/LTV Steel as a continuous-caster crane operator. He loved being in the presence of his family and enjoyed taking bike rides on tow paths with his grandchildren, sometimes realizing that their journey was just a little bit too long. His other interests included fishing, camping, woodworking & dueling games of cornhole with family. Watching sunsets on the front porch with his life-long companion, Janie, were treasured moments shared from their rocking chairs.

Bernard was the loving father of Mark (Sharon) (Jill [preceded in death]), Sharon (John), Bob (Lisa) & Linda [preceded in death]; grandfather of six; and great grandfather of five. He is survived by his sisters Joann & Judy; and preceded death by his brothers & sisters Clyde, Russell, William, Margaret, Mona, Betty & Ruby.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes, Streetsboro Chapel, Rev. Murray Bates officiating, with Internment services to follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua, Twp., Ohio. Condolences and memories of Bernard may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
