Robert L. O'Brien, 93, of Deerfield, formerly of Florida, passed away on
Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Longmeadow Care Center. He was born on August 6,
1918 in Natick, Massachusetts to the late Thomas and Mary Ellen (O'Brien)
Pickles. Bob was a Member of Tallmadge Lutheran Church and a veteran of the
U.S. Army Serving in the 16th Signal Battalion in WWII, in the Pacific Battlr
grounds, under General MacArthur. Bill worked for HP Hood Dairy for 32 years. He was also a member of the Deerfield American Legion Post #713, Deerfield Lads & Lassies, Deerfield
Dandies, and the Deerfield Civic Association. Bob is survived by his son, R.
Michael O'Brien of Plaistow, New Hampshire; and step son, David (Barbara) Bass
of Rootstown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to
his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wives, Eleanor M. and Thelma (Watson) O'Brien; daughter, Rita Elliott; and two brothers. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crilsip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. A funeral service will be
held on Thursday at 11AM at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be at
The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at 1:30PM. Memorial
