Robert E. Sabin

Robert E. Sabin 82 of Ravenna died Friday, December 31, 2010. He was born November 4, 1928 in Ravenna to Elden J. and Anna (Drake) Sabin. Robert graduated from Ravenna Township High School where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He was proud to have hit a homerun off of the King and His Court's Eddie Feigner and was an avid bowler. A lifelong Ravenna resident, he worked for his father at Corbett-Sabin Tractor Sales, retired from Chrysler Corporation as a mechanic and was a lifetime member of the Ravenna Moose. Survivors include the love of his life June T. (Dubar), who he married in 1948, daughters Pam (Bill) Mitchell and Karen (James) Heisler both of Ravenna, son Robert G. (Becky) Sabin of North Fort Myers, FL, grandchildren Christy, Matt and Mark Mitchell, Jamie (Iain) Findley, Adam Heisler, Jason (Marla) Sabin and Andrew Sabin, and great grandchildren Aubrey Henry, Landon Mitchell and Wyatt Sabin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Stouffer. Calling hours will be held from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 with Reverend pamela Cheney officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131-2217.
