Roberta Elizabeth Cooke, 90, of Ravenna (formerly of Colebrook), died peacefully at her home on December 2, 2015. She was born on July 8, 1925 in Ider, Alabama to Ida and Emmett Phillips. She married Lawrence Cooke on February 16, 1947.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was cherished by her family. She loved animals and the outdoors.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Glen) Gladding of Windsor, Deborah (Bill) Hinton of Mentor, Kimberly (Gary) Vojtkofsky of Ravenna and Kathy (Jay) Tuckerman of Mentor. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah Gladding, David (Marisol) Hinton, Steven (Angelina) Hinton, Tonia Vojtkofsky, Neal (Michelle) Vojtkofsky, Cameron Tuckerman and Kasey Tuckerman and great grandson Dominic Melbone. Survivors also include her sister Shelva Jean Hickey of Chattanooga, Tennessee and sister-in-law Dorothy Bivens of Cleveland, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, sister Julia Foisteen and brothers Mamerd, Otho Jean, Doke, Burman, and Ulysses.
Calling hours will be held on December 4, 2015 at the Shorts, Spicer, Crislip Funeral Home in Ravenna from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A family burial will held on Saturday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Colebrook North Cemetery.
