Ronald A. Krohn, Sr.

Ronald A. Krohn, Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the age of 87. He was loved by many and cherished by all.  Ron lived in Mantua all his life, and was a graduate of the Crestwood High School Class of 1954.  He had a deep love of farming, and never missed a live auction or sale.  Early in his professional career, Ron worked at Carlon Products Corp. and was a Special Deputy for Portage County.  He also had a long career at Custom Plastics. Ron was a proud member of the Mantua Masonic Lodge, and was very active in the Crestwood Lions Club.  He received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest award obtainable from Lions International, for his service and commitment to others. He loved the Cleveland Browns, hunting, fishing, and was very active with his family.  He spent his summers baling hay with his children and grandchildren, sharing many laughs and lessons that will last for generations.  He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything, and he was always present and willing to offer a helping hand. Ron is survived by his 4 children: Vicki (Ray) Harper, Kelly (Bob) Conti, Ronald (Ghada) Krohn, Jr. and Shirley Krohn; sister Julie Molenaur and sister-in-law Cornelia Krohn.  His 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren will miss his infectious laugh and his love of the farm.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Alan Krohn. We are grateful for all the memories throughout the years, and dad/grandpa/great-grandpa will never be forgotten. Calling hours will be from 11 AM until time of masonic and funeral services at 1 PM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township.
