Ronald A Stenglein

Ronald A. Stenglein 89 of Streetsboro passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born May 16, 1931 in Rochester, NY to William and Mildred (Sahs) Stenglein. He Graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester, NY in 1949, and earned an Associates Degree in Photographic Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1958. Ronald was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Streetsboro and a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a Field Maintenance Supervisor for ODOT. Mr. Stenglein moved to Streetsboro with his wife in 1968 and served his community as a member of Streetsboro Council for 7 years and served on the Charter Review Commission and the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals. He was a Master Mason of the Bykota Lodge in Lake Worth Florida, Member of Yusef Kahn Grotto in Tallmadge, the Streetsboro American Legion Post 685 in Streetsboro, and  Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #280.  Ronald enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Sodus Bay, NY to fish with his high school buddies, playing Pinochle with his friends at the Streetsboro Senior Center,  family gatherings and bowling.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his children Linda Hautmann and Mark (Tammy) Stenglein, grandchildren Mark Stenglein, Aaron Stenglein and Corey Hautmann and sisters Joyce Callahan and Janice Stenglein. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Frances Stenglein. Calling hours will be from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 1 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Dr. Christian Just will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 9042 State Route 43, Streetsboro, OH 44241.
