Rose Marie Rody 78 of Streetsboro died Saturday, December 26, 2015. She was born July 21, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Paola (Giordano) Battaglia. Formerly of Cleveland, she has lived in Streetsboro 8 years and and worked for Cleveland EMS and as a security officer. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and the Streetsboro VFW and American Legion. Survivors include her daughters Pamela Reese of Seville, Patty Walacko of Seven Hills and Tina Whalen of Berea, sons Robert Rody of Westlake and Richard and Joseph Rody both of Hudson, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a brother Joseph Battaglia of Parma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Ronald Hocevar and Ralph Rody and a brother Anthony Battaglia. Calling hours will be from 2 -4 PM and 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Burial will be at 12 PM Wednesday in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, OH. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the American Cancer Society.
