Roy R. Ahrens, 85 of Ravenna, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
Roy was born December 27, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Russell and Etta (Simpson) Ahrens.
Roy was an Army veteran having served on the front lines during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return, he began working for Tremco Manufacturing where he retired after more than 35 years of service.
During his life, he enjoyed baseball, bowling, hiking, dancing, the Cleveland Browns, his cats and most of all, his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Sweet and brother Duane Ahrens. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jane (Dolan) Ahrens, Daughters; Linda (Tim) Wagner of Mantua, Loretta (John) Allen of Stow, Lois (Mike) Leiendecker of Ravenna, Lisa (Scott) Taylor of Casper, Wyoming and Sister-in-law Mary Ann Krause of Twinsburg. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home in Ravenna on Tuesday, April 28th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM and will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service with Mary Ann Krause officiating.
A Graveside service, where all are invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery on Lakewood Rd. in Ravenna.
