Russell W. Mcewen

Russell W. McEwen 67 a lifelong Ravenna resident passed away Sunday January 3, 2016 at his residence following a long battle  with throat cancer "Darn Cigarettes".  He was born August 23, 1948 in Diamondville, PA to the late Bert , Sr. and Bessie McEwen.  Russell worked at Colonial Rubber and Paco rubber as a press operator and was a veteran of the US Navy.  He was a member of the Ravenna American Legion and loved doing word finds. Survivors include  his brothers Bert McEwen, Jr., Robert (Nitta) McEwen, Fred (Vickie) McEwen all of Ravenna,  his sisters Peggy McEwen, Mary Gann both of Florida, Ruth (John) Shriver of Warren and longtime loving companion Michelle Lambert.   Entombment and military services will be 10:30 AM Thursday January 21, 2016 at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery Rittman, Ohio.  Memorial services will be 6:00 PM Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Ravenna American Legion  109 Elm St. Ravenna, Ohio 44266.  Condolences and memories of Russell may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
