Ruth C. (Averill) Curtin

Ruth C. Curtin, 92 of Shalersville passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born January 20, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Leroy and Louise (Metzger) Averill. Mrs. Curtin has lived in Shalersville the past seven years and was formerly of Ravenna. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua and had retired from Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Hts.. She enjoyed knitting and going to casinos. Survivors include her children William (Lucille) Curtin of Shalersville, Eileen Curtin of Ravenna, her grandchildren Brian, Marc, Stephen, Brendan, Scott, Robert and her great grandchildren Brandon, Samantha and Madison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James R. Curtin, her son Daniel and grandson Michael. Calling hours will be Tuesday June 21, 2016 at St. Joseph's Church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Fr. Ed Stafford officiating. Private family burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery Cleveland, Ohio.
