Ruth Ellen Bailey 80 of Kent died Friday, December 3, 2010. She was born September 20, 1930 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Harold and Ruth (Griffiths) Hardesty. A Kent resident for most of her life, Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent, a realtor for Century 21 Wilbur Realty for over 35 years and a member of the Portage County Board of Realtors. She was a loving, devoted mother to her daughters Gayellen (Edwin) Lively of Seminole, FL , Sheriann Linzey of Paris Township, Colleen De Vincentis of Astoria, Oregon, Lynnette (Dan) Begue-Lavery of Kent, and son Dr. James M. (Barbara) Bailey of Kent, grandchildren Brooke (Brian) Crandall, Britney (Chris) Melvin, Chelsea and Brett Linzey, Shane (Julie)Yoakam, Alexia (Diego) De Vincentis-Valdivia, Dustin De Vincentis, Brandie Huth, Bradley (Jenette) Begue, Jared Begue, Nathaniel, Julianna and Rebecca Bailey, 4 great grandchildren and a sister Cora Caldwell of Coventry, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James G. Bailey, sister Betty Lou Lee, brothers Tom, Earl, and Dallas Hardesty and a son in law Donald Linzey. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in the parlor of the United Methodist Church of Kent. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the church with Dr. David Palmer and Reverend Douglas Denton officiating. Burial will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Memorials should be made to the United Methodist Church of Kent, 1435 E. Main Street, Kent, Ohio 44240.
