Ruth E. (Marden) Woodward

Ruth E. Woodward, formerly of Mantua, Hiram, and Ravenna passed away on September 10th, after a short illness. She had been living in Minnesota the past several years. She is survived by her daughter, Susan
(Bruce) Ahrens of Rootstown, and her son Richard (Teresa) Woodward of Plymouth, Minnesota. Ruth has a sister Eleanor (John) Brega living in East Longmeadow, Mass. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Fred (Chris) Ahrens of Tallmadge, Sonja (Donald) Sherwood of South Hadley, Mass., Clark (Elise) Woodward of Minneapolis, MN, Dean Woodward of Minnetonka, MN, and Ellie Woodward of Plymouth, MN. She also had 5 great grandchildren.

Born on March 8, 1920 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Richard and Dorothy Marden.  She live a full  90 plus years of life. She was married to Alfred (Woody) Woodward, .the love of her life for over 53 years
who preceded her in death. They moved from Massachusetts to Mantua, Ohio with their family in 1956. Ruth will be remembered by her close friends and family for her feisty spirit and sense of humor. Her family will
miss her warm smile and sense of grace but will be blessed knowing we have an angel working on our behalf. She was an accomplished golfer, played bridge and the organ. She was a Sunday School teacher, Brownie Scout leader, volunteered for United Way, and was active in the Crestwood School Booster programs.
Visitation will be at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna on
Thursday September 16 from 6-8, with funeral service at Grace Episcopal
Church, Ravenna on Friday, September 17th at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery Mantua, Ohio.   In lieu of
flowers, memorials are preferred to N.C. Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Lane,
Edina, MN, 55435 or to the charity of your choice in her memory.
