Sarah B Montigney

Sarah Montigney, 92, of Ravenna, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Alfred (Al) Montigney who passed away in 2015. Sarah was born in Clay, West Virginia, to parents Nicodemus and Lottie (Clark) Arbogast, the third youngest of eight children, and the last survivor of her siblings Frank, Ray, Harry, Roy, Buck, Donnie, and Phyllis. She is survived by her children, Deborah Rice (Jeff), Cheryl Luli (Bob), Denise Vigluicci (Victor), Danny Leader (Mary), Nicole Sudbrink (Jason), stepchildren Sheryl Langell, Al Montigney, Jr., and12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren she adored, all of whom will miss her greatly. Sarah enjoyed the fashion industry and working with people. She was an employee in the Ladies’ apparel department stores of O'Neil’s, May Company, Kaufmann’s, and Macy's until her retirement in 2013. She also enjoyed volunteering for many years in the gift shop at Robinson Memorial and University Hospitals and was a member of the Ravenna Garden Club. Her warm hugs and easy infectious laugh would brighten your day. She loved animals and adopted several over the years from the Portage County Animal Protective League. Her special passion was flowers where she took great pride in caring for her many beautiful flower beds. Sarah’s family will have a private celebration of her life, and burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Memorials in her name may be made to the Portage County Animal Protective League, PO Box 927, Ravenna, OH. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home in Ravenna, OH.
