Sarah J. (Timms) Holmes

Sarah J. Holmes, 94 of Ravenna, passed away Friday August 7, 2020 at her home in Ravenna.  She was born May 22, 1926 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Orlando and Edna (Rowinsky) Timms.  Mrs. Holmes has lived in Ravenna  the past 15 years and was formerly of Brimfield.  During WW II she was a Rosie the Riveter  and had various jobs in her lifetime.  She was a member of the Blackhorse Baptist Church in Ravenna.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Holmes in 1990, her sons  John E. Holmes Jr, Larry Holmes, Charlie Holmes, Ron Holmes and her siblings Ray Timms and Virginia Trimble.  She is survived by her son James Holmes, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  There will be no calling hours or services, in honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place.  Condolences and memories of Sarah may be shared at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
