Sarah E. (Vance) Bates

Sarah E. Bates 78, a Ravenna resident since 1964, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She was born February 5, 1934 in Lebanon, VA to Robert and Rhoda (Griffith) Vance. Survivors include her loving daughters Linda (Daniel) Wise of Brimfield, Donna (Larry) Bates-Ridenour of Rootstown, Theresa (Bill) Main of Ravenna and Diana (Roger) Hardin of Randolph, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sisters Virginia Hess and Charlotte Hensley both of VA and brothers Paul and David Vance both of VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold L., sisters Mary Knowler and Betty Rose and brother Robert Vance. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor David Hermann officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
