Shirley D Fitzgerald

Shirley Darlene (Keenan) Fitzgerald, age 80, of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, and is now rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Shirley was born on April 12, 1945, to Elizabeth T. Keenan and William E. Keenan. She spent her life rooted in family and community, and those who knew her will remember her for her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. Shirley loved her family dearly and took great joy in spending time with them. She especially cherished spending time with her nieces and creating meaningful memories together. Her time, love, and attention made each of them feel deeply valued and cared for. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Fitzgerald; her brother, William E. Keenan Jr. (Kathleen Keenan); and her sister, Carolyn S. Cassise (formerly Patrize). She is survived by her loving nieces Charlotte Patrize, Heather Patrize de Rocha (Daniel Rocha), Kimberly Johnson, Karen Keenan, and Kristie Weeks (Zachary Weeks); great-nephews Robert (“Rob”) Patrize, Alex Johnson, Dominic Rocha, Reagan Weeks and Lincoln Weeks; and great-nieces Kennedy Weeks and McKinley Weeks. Shirley was deeply loved by her family, and her life was a reflection of her love for Jesus and for others. Her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her. The family would like to extend a special thank you and express heartfelt gratitude to Tom’s nephew Matt Totman and his wife Kelsey Totman, along with Alison Totman and Mary Jo Totman, for their compassionate caregiving, love, support, and kindness shown to Shirley. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
