Shirley Jean (Gaston) Hogle

Shirley Jean Hogle 83 of Rootstown died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at UH Portage Medical Center. She was born July 9, 1935 in Punxsutawney, PA to Howard Edward and Edna LaRue (Baun) Gaston. Shirley had worked at Hogle Motors, was a Deputy Registrar at the License Bureau and worked at the Title Bureau. She was a volunteer spending countless hours at Robinson Memorial Hospital gift shop, was a member of Delta Sorosis, volunteered at Hattie Larlham and enjoyed Elks Club Bingo. Shirley was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed crafts, cards and the casino. Survivors include her daughter Cindy (Donald) Burger, grandchildren Charles Burger, Sarah Burger and Kallie (Brad) Bishop, great granddaughter Savannah Bishop and siblings Joan (Larry) Serafin, Cheryl (Jim) King, Mary James and Ronnie (Gary) Kirby. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James Eugene Hogle. Memorial calling hours will be from 3 PM until time of memorial service at 6 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Reverend William Snyder will officiate. Private burial will take place in Homeland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to UH Hospice, 6847 N. Chestnut Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
