Shirley A (Morris) Given

It is with a mixture of joy and sadness that the sons of Shirley A. Given announce the passing of their beloved mother. Shirley passed away at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas, entering into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November, 23, 2016. Shirley was born in Lisbon, Ohio on January 18, 1939 to parents Russell and Catherine Morris. After graduating from Ravenna High School, Shirley married the love of her life, Lowell D. Given, on August 18, 1958. They eventually made their home on Camp Road in Rootstown, where they raised their three adored sons. While Shirley loved to read and solve puzzles, her greatest love was for Jesus and her family.  That agape love was mirrored back to her by the love she received from all who knew her, and those in that inner circle of love will forever cherish her signature laugh at the telling of a good joke.   Shirley is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Crystal Robinson) of Keller, Texas, and Rick (Kelly) of Las Vegas, Nevada.  Also surviving is daughter-in-law, Sharon (Greg) Given of Franklinton, N.C., and brother, Russell Morris of Florida. Additionally surviving are grandchildren, Celeste Craig, Geoffrey, Brittany, Joshua, Jael, Jessyca, Josiah, Kristen, Noah, and Jayden Given, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, son Gregory, and siblings, Katherine Mason, Bonnie Fortney, Joann Rudd, and Harold Morris. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at 11 AM at the Edinburg Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Paroz officiating. There will be a celebration of life service immediately following at the Ravenna Elks, located at 776 N.
