Shurdon L. Groves

Shurdon L. Groves, 80 of Ravenna, passed away Friday January 17, 2024 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  He was born in Sutton, WVA on June 15, 1944 to Genevieve Groves.  Living in Ravenna most of his life, he retired from Automated Packaging in Streetsboro as a machinist.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Owen Herron and Lydia Shaw.  Survivors include his wife of 38 years Patricia L. Groves whom he married on September 11, 1987, his children Shurdon Groves, Jr., Shelly Groves-Cowx, Phill Peck, John Groves, Angelo Groves, his step daughter Christine Herra,  grandchildren Chad, Jacob, Jerico, Rachel, Alexandria, Kara, Christian, Amber, great grandchildren Beckett   and brother Berlin Groves.  In honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and Celebration of life services will be 5 to 7 PM Thursday January 23, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Condolences and memories of Shurdon may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
