Stuart C Pruitt

Stuart C. Pruitt, 75 of Ravenna, passed away Thursday September 24, 2026 at the UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Stuart was born September 1, 1951 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Daniel H. and Olive M. Copland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Vance M. Pruitt and he is survived by his siblings Daniel G. (Carol), Lynn C. Amos and many nieces, nephews and friends. Stuart has lived in the Ravenna area since 2003 and was an accomplished and well known artist. His work has been exhibited regionally and is in private collections. He was awarded grants and exhibited in the Butler Institute of American Art's Ohio Area Art Annual Show. The Black Squirrel Gallery represented his abstract paintings and drawings. Stuart Struggled during his adult life with mental illness but never gave up his dream and passion to express himself through his artwork. Admirers in the Kent and Ravenna area own many of his paintings and drawings. In honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial visitation will be at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel, Saturday October 10, 2 -4 pm.
