Teresa “Stephanie” Fletcher, 71, of Hiram, Ohio passed away April, 7 2026, at UH Geauga Medical Center.
Stephanie was born on June 7, 1954 to the late Steven and Helen (Kepich) Vargo. She grew up in Willoughby, Ohio and later moved to Hiram, where she raised her daughters and lived for the past 45 years.
A homemaker in her early years, she later worked in various office positions, most recently working for National Enterprise Systems in Solon. Stephanie loved the camaraderie and friendships that came with being part of a work family.
Strong. Resilient. Generous. She was small in stature, but mighty in strength. Stephanie endured many obstacles in her life, but she refused to let them defeat her.
She had a generous and giving heart and loved to gift things big and small, especially to her grandchildren. Stephanie had a very special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs. She had taken in many stray dogs over the years and each and every dog became her companion and best friend. Her Miya girl will miss her very much.
She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed romance novels and thrillers. You would be hard pressed to find a John Grissom novel she had not devoured and enjoyed. A long standing joke was her lifelong, not so secret, love of Elvis Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Helen (Kepich) Vargo. She is survived by her daughters Tina (Joe) Huth, Cheri (Scott) Mikula, Amy Dalesandro, and Tracy Fletcher, her grandchildren, Geriko (Annoel Lohr) Huth, Ian and Madelyn Mikula, and Gianna Dalesandro, her siblings Denise (Barry) Gibson, Steve (Debbie) Vargo, Keith (Donna) Vargo, and many nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank her long time, loyal friend, Mike Moats for his companionship and steady presence in her life up until her final days.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Riverwood Chapel 1407 Fairchild Ave., Kent, Ohio 44240 on Monday, April 20th with visitation from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm followed by a short service and dinner. Please visit www.sscfuneralhomes.com to offer a condolence, share a memory or light a candle.
