Thomas Daniel Buxton

Thomas Daniel Buxton, 71, passed away Tuesday February 8, 2022 at Akron General Hospital.  On October 19, 1950 Thomas was born in Akron, Ohio to the late James R. and Mary Sue (Hulen) Buxton. After living in Texas for 20 years he returned to Streetsboro in 2001 to take care of his mother. He has been at the Kent Health Care Center in Kent, Ohio since 2020. He was very proud of the fact that as a teenager he built his own radio station in the family home, where he was able to broadcast to his friends in the neighborhood.   As an adult he worked as a short wave radio operator for Transworld Radio in Bon Aire and KCBI in Dallas, Texas. He was a 1968 graduate of Streetsboro High School where he played the trombone in the band.  Thomas had a love of music and had a wonderful sense of humor, putting smiles on many of the faces of friends. On his Facebook page he had many friends from all over the world. Survivors include his sister Julie Gaikoski of Lewisville, Texas and  cousins Myron, Amy, John, Rosemary, Sally, Jim, Janice and Ken.  Burial was in Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Warren, Ohio.  A memorial service for Thomas will be announced at a later date.  Condolences and memories of Thomas may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
