Thomas G. Criswell, 89 of Ravenna, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the UH Portage Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on July 17, 1932 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Charles G. and Hazel Pettitt Criswell. Thomas was a Highway Engineer retiring from the City of Akron in 1995. He served as a member of the Ravenna planning commission for 40 years and received a key to the city in 2007. Thomas was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna and was a proud service member of the United States Army, during the Korean war. He enjoyed being active playing golf, bowling, and going to the R.A.C. Tom's favorite place was at the family cottage in Rose Point where he enjoyed hosting family and friends. In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Bevan Criswell of 59 years who passed away on January 7, 2018 and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Margaret (Kevin) Trinkle, ,Connie (Ron) Pahls, Janice (Tom) Flynn, Joyce (Joe) Rastetter, Liz Grotemeyer, Thomas Criswell, and James Criswell; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Tom will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, Ohio (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH).
