Thomas J. Farley 69 of Charlestown, formerly of Kent, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Bonnie's Home Healthcare in Rootstown. He was born January 5, 1941 in Johnstown, PA to the late James H. and Hilda M. (Bender) Farley. Thomas was a human resource manager for Quality Synthetic Rubber and Davey Tree. He was a member of and past King Lion of the Kent Lions Club, member of the Ravenna Elks where he was a past trustee, past president of the Kent Chamber of Commerce, member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity at the University of Akron and was an Eagle Scout. Mr. Farley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kent and served in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Patricia (Shaw), daughters Jennifer (Aron) Hanlon of Akron and Kirsten Farley-Trammel of Mogadore, grandchildren Andrew, Nicholas, and Celeste Trammel and Anne and Mary Margaret Hanlon and sisters in law Karlee Farley of Seneca, OH and Jackie (Hal) Horton of Bath, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Farley. Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the United Methodist Church of Kent with friends received from 10:00 AM until time of services. Reverend Dave Palmer and Reverend Douglas Denton will officiate. Burial will take place in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at a later date. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Bonnie Klusky and family for all their loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association of Greater Akron, Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice, or the United Methodist Church of Kent.
