Thomas G. Giffin

Thomas G. Giffin 63 of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday March 11, 2014 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio.  He was born September 21, 1950 in Barberton, Ohio to the late James and Alice (Carter) Giffin and has lived in Ravenna the past 25 years.  Mr. Giffin retired from the Portage County Administration where he worked in Human Services and had also at one time was a licensed funeral director and embalmer working for several funeral homes in Akron.  He enjoyed dogs, especially his pal Chip and was a patient  for the first open heart surgery performed by Dr. Beck in the Cleveland Clinic.  Survivors include his brothers Bruce Giffin of Detroit, Michigan and Doug Giffin of Roanoke, VA.   Graveside services  will be 2:00 PM Wednesday March 19, 2014 at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev.
