Thomas L. Kirtley

Thomas L. Kirtley, Jr. 64 of Kent passed away Tuesday January 3, 2012, peacefully with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tom was born September 24, 1947 in Huntington, WVA to the late Tom and Mary (Elkins) Kirtley, Sr. He has lived in Kent the past 35 years, was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam Era and was a dedicated worker at Colonial Rubber. Tom was preceded in death by his wonderful parents Tom and Mary Kirtley. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Sheryl (Doak) Kirtley. He was a devoted father to his two children Mike Kirtley and Janette Teel both of Ravenna. He had three grandchildren that were the love of his life, Koree Conn-Kirtley, Kateriena Conn-Kirtley and Koletein Conn-Kirtley of Kent. He is also survived by sisters Suzanne (Dennis) Hurst and Tammy (Fred) McKay of Lafayette, IN, brothers Donald (Julia) Kirtley of Southpoint, OH, John (Della) Kirtley of Ravenna, Morris (Karen) Kirtley of Huntington, WVA, Robert (Vivian) Kirtley of Veedersburg, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday January 7, 2012 from 1 PM until time of services at 3 PM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Gary Glasscock officiating.
