Thornton Lee "Tony" Moose" Douthitt

Thornton Lee "Tony" "Moose" Douthitt, 81, of Atwater went home to be with the Lord after a short illness Wednesday, December 8, 2010. He was born May 26, 1929 in Speers, PA to the late Thornton and Eva (Gaskill) Douthitt.  He was married to Lena Mae (Scott) Rosenburger-Douthitt for 59 years. He was a life long resident of Atwater and enjoyed camping, singing country music, playing cards, target shooting and was an MVP baseball player.  He is survived by his wife, sons, Bill (Barb) Rosenburger of Barberton, Bob (Beth) Rosenburger of  Atwater, Rick (Chris) Douthitt of Atwater,  sisters, Gertrude (Fred) Martz of Atwater, Sherry (James) Vence of Atwater, Sandy Hamlin of Alliance, grandchildren,  Tammy Aldeman, Joe Sniderhan, Quentin Rosenburger, Melissa Rosenburger, & Kelly Slaltery and 4 great grandchildren.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton Douthitt, Richard Douthitt, and sister Beverly Polozi.  Calling hours will be held from 12 - 2 PM Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Atwater United Methodist Church, 6380 Waterloo Road Atwater, Ohio. The Funeral Service will follow with Pastor William Nicewarner officiating.  Burial will be in Atwater Cemetery. Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna is Handling the arrangements.
