Troy B. Jones

Troy B. Jones, Sr., age 80, of Streetsboro Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Beloved and loving husband, father, papa, and brother. Troy was born on February 20, 1943 in Kayford, WV to Marshall L. and Verna E. (Williams) Jones, one of 12 children. He married the love of his life of 63 years, Rebecca (Ferrell) Jones in 1960. Troy joined the military in 1961 and spent 6 years honorably serving in the Army. Troy and Rebecca raised their 3 children, with a majority of those years in Brunswick, Ohio. He spent his career of 30 years driving tractor trailers for Lyons Transportation and Roadway Trucking. Troy spent his retirement years taking care of the neighborhood strays and wildlife. With his family, he got to cruise the Caribbean, go to Disney, and his bucketlist item of seeing Alaska. He was a member of Encounter Church in Streetsboro. He had a sense of humor and always liked to crack a joke. But more than anything, he loved his grandkids dearly and would light up every time he saw them. He had nicknames for them all, always told them how smart, beautiful, talented they were, how proud he was, and how much he loved them. He was everyone’s papa, will be dearly missed, and never forgotten. Troy is survived by his wife Rebecca (Ferrell) Jones, children Tammy Jones, Mike (Toni) Jones, and Troy (Cindy) Jones, Jr. His grandchildren, Mike (Amanda) Jones, Brittni (Adam) French, Nicole (Josh) West, TJ Jones, and Gabriel Jones. His great grandchildren, Mikayla, Brayden, Wyatt, Grayson, Maverick, Logan, Ava, and Everlee. His brothers, Delbert and Johnny Jones. He is proceeded in death by his granddaughter Alexis Jones, daughter-in-law Linda Jones, siblings, and parents, Marshall and Verna Jones. Calling hours will be from 2 PM until the time of funeral services at 3:30 PM Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Pastor Mike Rice will officiate. A private burial and service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at a later date.
