Ty Alan Marlin 46 of Streetsboro died Sunday April 18, 2010. He was born May 21, 1963 in Akron, Ohio to Jearl F. and Brenda J. (Cooper) Marlin. Formerly of Springfield Township, where he served on the fire department, he has lived in Streetsboro for 15 years. He was a fulltime firefighter and paramedic for the Twinsburg Fire Department and a part-time firefighter and paramedic for the Streetsboro Fire Department, a member of the Summit County Hazmat & Dive Special Operations Team and had taught CPR. Survivors include his wife Elaine (Schueller), daughters Angela Hawkins of Akron and Jennifer (Dave) Barber of Stow, sons Ty Marlin, Jr. and Nicholas Marlin both at home, grandson Lucas Barber, father Jearl Marlin of FL, mother Brenda Sanders of Springfield Township, OH, sister Ladon Bailey of FL and a step brother Scott Sanders of MI. Calling hours will be from 4 - 8 PM Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 23, 2010 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with Father Pat Ferraro officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. Memorials can be made to firefighters Local #3630, PO Box 1143, Twinsburg, OH 44087, to establish a scholarship fund in Ty Marlins name.
