Tyrone Hornbuckle

May 2, 1959 — January 25, 2025

Windham

Tyrone Hornbuckle, born May 2, 1959 in Cleveland OH, beloved life partner of Jennifer Wampler, passed away of cardiac arrest at his residence in Windham, OH January 25, 2025.

Tyrone grew up in Mesopotamia, OH and attended North Bloomfield High School, where he became a gifted musician and singer, with deep ties to the community. He was proud to be a self-educated lifelong learner, avid reader, and lover of animals. He enjoyed exploring the outdoors. Being a spontaneous person, Ty believed in living each day to the fullest, so he often surprised Jen, family members, and friends with inventive road trips and cross-country vacations. Along with his many musical adventures, he loved playing golf, fishing, visiting state parks, animal sanctuaries, zoos, and historical sites with his family. No trip was ever complete without a good meal, and he knew all the best places to find them.

Tyrone is well known for being generous with his time, often sharing his musical talents by teaching and encouraging many young people. One of his greatest joys was playing and singing at area assisted living and nursing facilities, and playing fund raisers for ability challenged kids and adults.

As well as being a working musician, Ty was also a talented machinist, working at several area machine shops over the years.

Tyrone’s memory will be forever treasured by his life partner, his everything and best friend, Jennifer; his brother, Anthony “Tony” Hornbuckle of Poland OH, his children, Nick (Brandy) Hicar of Augusta GA; Tonya Hornbuckle of Sarasota Fl; Tim Hornbuckle of Etowah NC; Nathan (Briana) Ward and Anthony Moet Conner Arnett, both of North Brookfield MA; Melinda Wampler and Kimberly Wampler of Windham OH; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and many other dear family members and friends. Tyrone also leaves behind fur babies: his sweet old pupper Gus, and loving kitties.

Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Smith and Geneva Hornbuckle Holmes, and sisters, Sharon Wells and Gwendolyn Hornbuckle.
