V. Kay Vanscoy 79 of Ravenna, passed away Sunday September 13, 2015 at Akron City Hospital. She was born July 20, 1936 in Huntington, WVA to the Jean F. and Phoebe W. (Heide) Mays. Kay has lived in Ravenna the past 15 years and was formerly of Streetsboro. She was a member of the Newton Falls Church of God and had retired from Matrix in Solon, at one time she was a very avid bowler and loved going to the Hartville Flea Market. Survivors include her husband Ivan Vanscoy whom she married April 22, 2000, her son Darrell Scott Elkins of Ravenna, nine grandchildren, one great grandchildren and sister Joyce Spurlock of Streetsboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her first husband Charles Elkins in 1967 and brothers Max and Ken Mays. Calling hours will be from 12 noon until time of services at 2 PM on Wednesday September 16, 2015 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Glen Rader and Rev. Mitchel Meadors officiating. She will be carried to her resting place at Grandview Memorial by pall bearers Dan Spurlock, Rodney Spurlock, Richard Morell, Roger Sawyer and Ryan Vanscoy.
