Vergie Mae (Speck) Brooks

Vergie Mae Brooks 83 of Streetsboro passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born August 23, 1938 in Beans Creek, TN to James and Lula Maie (Stewart) Speck. Vergie had been a clerk for Fishers Big Wheel and worked for Streetsboro City Schools as a bus aide and cafeteria worker. Survivors include her children Alan Brooks, Charles Brooks, Elizabeth (David) Spears and Cynthia (Scott) Moore, grandchildren Jessica (Mike) Weimer, Jeffrey (Katy) Brock, Sarah Moore, Elisha (Samantha) Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Zachary Moore and Terrance Brooks, great grandchildren Felix Steele, Cooper Brock and Chloe Brock and sisters Julia (Junior) Clark and Judy Cannon. She was preceded by her parents, her husband Franklin Brooks and siblings Dorothy Bradford, Ailene Morrow, Jean Gamble, Lorene Watkins, Charles Speck, James Speck and Bob Speck. Calling hours will be from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel with John Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 W Streetsboro St #201, Hudson, OH 44236.
