Verna Mae Beck was born blessed, with no less, than a million miracles. Yet perhaps her most miraculous gift, was her ability to selflessly share those miracles, with family, friends, congregation, community and complete strangers throughout the course of her awe inspiring voyage. Her presence was like the scent of fresh cut grass being kissed by the country sunrise. Crisp, Invigorating, Renewing. Her smile, gave us a glimpse of heaven, almost too lovely to lay eyes upon. Her laugh, so true, it could be assumed that it will echo for eternity. From her travels to Israel, Europe, China and beyond, Verna was determined to live each adventure as if it was her last. Grabbing life by the horns and squeezing every drop of God's sweat nectar into her daily cup of tea. She leaves behind a pristine example for all of us, of how to live a life, full of purpose, poise, dignity and grace. Verna is survived by a large loving family consisting of siblings: Blanch Shepard, Betty Kolacz & Charles Champagne. Children: Darrell (Faye) Lewis, Bonnie Smith, Carol (Mike) Kolner, Sue Riethman & Diane (Gene) Hohwald. 14 Grandchildren: Darrell (Tiffany) Lewis, Jenny Lewis Larrabe, Jeff Kolner, Scott (Pam) Kolner, Sara & Julie Smith, Katie Massinggill, Gretchen (Mike) Alimov, Jen (Drew) Black, Debbie (Ron) Vitarella, Kim (Tony) Boling, David Riethman, Brian Hohwald & Aaron Evans. Great-grandchildren: Taylor & Christy Lewis, Hope & Seth Larrabe, Meghan, Kevin & Rachel Kolner, Christy & Cathy Massinggill, Luka & Gabe Alimov, Sean & Leah Black, Ronnie Vitarella, Lee, Jamie & Alix Boling. And will be joyously received with open arms of excitement and anticipation at the pearly gates by her husband of 35 years Evans R. Beck, Son in Law David Riethman and savior Jesus Christ. The hole left behind by Verna's departure will not easy be filled. Be it in her personal life, where she patiently tended to her eclectic flock, as a matriotic rock for her family. Her important roles in the community as a member of the Eastern Star, The Christian Women's Connection & a volunteer for the Firehouse Chili and Lions Venison Dinners. Or her uplifting aura, which filled The United Methodist Church of Streetsboro where she regularly contributed to and attended service. Gathering weekly with friends to praise the holy spirit. Yet we can find peace in knowing, that if nothing else, we must remember the greatest gift Verna gave to us all. The gift of light. The opportunity to shine. May we each take this torch and use it's knowledge, wisdom and ferocious flame to share her infinite love with the world. Energy can never be created or destroyed and her energy will live on in each of us forever. So to Verna, Mrs. Beck, Grandma B, GG, The Rock. Please know this isn't goodbye. It's "till then". We will each hold you in our hearts with the delicate touch of a dove wings until we see you again. We love you more than any of us could ever express through words, songs, poems, painting, laughter or tears. Goodnight our sweet Queen. We're so happy and grateful that your finally home.
