Vernon A Long

Vernon A. Long, 68 of Ravenna passed away Friday March 20, 2020 at his home in Ravenna.  Being a lifelong Ravenna resident, Vernon was born October 22, 1951 in Ravenna to the late Fred A and Dorothy (Ford) Long.  He was  retired from the Eaton Corp. and had worked as a bus driver for Emerald  Transportation.  Vernon was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Ravenna Eagles and the Ravenna American Legion.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Gary and Kathy and is survived by his companion Barbara Brown, his brothers Scott (Julie) Long, Fred M. (Mindy) Long and one niece and two nephews.  Committal  with military honors will be  1:00 PM Friday  August 7, 2020 at Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.   A Celebration of Vernon's life will be held at 3:00 PM at the Roy Smith Shelter House 601 Middlebury Rd.
