Vicie Taylor Mostella of Ravenna passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on February 19, 2025. She was born September 14, 1951 in Hurley, Virginia to Frank and Worthy Mounts. When she was 16 years old, she moved to Ravenna, Ohio where she met her first husband Luther "Sonny" Taylor. They were married in 1969 and blessed with 3 wonderful children, Ann, Luther, Jr. and Ray. In 2002 she married Harry Mostella and shared their life together until his passing in 2015. In 1977 she started a job with Hogan's Van service, which lead to her career at Portage County MRDD driving school bus and training new employees until her retirement in 1995. She truly enjoyed the clients and her coworkers throughout the many years of her employment. Her true passion was becoming the Pastor of God's Church in Ravenna. Her service for many years at the church fulfilled her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Worthy Mounts, husbands Luther Taylor and Harry Mostella, siblings Sarah, Linda Faye, Mary Kay, Jason and Earnie Mounts, sister in laws' Donna Sue Mounts, Anita McClain and Albert Javosky, 1 heavenly grandchild and 1 heavenly great grandchild. She is survived by her children Ann (Doug) Maggard, Luther Jr.(Melissa) Taylor, Ray (Jeanette) Taylor and Albert (Lisa) Taylor, siblings James (Linda) Mounts, Janice (Larry) Brown, Richard (Sandy) Mounts and Danny (Norma) Mounts, sister in laws' Janet Mounts, Nicky Valentine and Olivia Jean Putnam, brother in law Wallace (Elizabeth) Mostella, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, her extended family along with lifelong friend Katherine "Sal" Hughley and best friend and traveling wanderluster Janet Radcliff. Vicie wishes to thank everyone for their care and support in her final days, especially Ann, Doug, Luther Jr., Melissa, Ray and Sherri Lynn for everything that they did for her and those family and friends who continually thought of her to bring meals. A special thank you to Affinity Hospice for all the top-notch care received. The nurses and aides were so caring and compassionate that she referred to them as, "Hey Baby". Also, the staff at UH Portage Medical Center Seidman Cancer Center staff. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Monday, February 24, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Frum officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna next to her husband Luther "Sonny" Taylor.
