Wanda A. (Jones) Ferrell

Wanda A. Ferrell 66 of Ravenna passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She was born September 3, 1945 in Cecil, Maryland to the late Gilbert H. and Eva Lou (Ring) Jones. Wanda worked for Portage County in Housekeeping until she retired in 2011. She was a member of the Freedom Congregational Church and she enjoyed working on crafts, painting, and drawing. Wanda collected Disney DVD's, dolls and bears. Her favorite movie was Dirty Dancing, music groups Train and The Bee Gees and she loved the song (Escape) the Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. At Christmas time, she loved filling stockings and making homemade cherry cheesecake. Survivors include her loving husband, James Ferrell whom she married June 8, 1977, sons, David Wyers of Niles, OH, Scott Ferrell of Benson, NC, daughter-in-law, April Thomas of Girard, OH, sisters, Anna Clement of Rootstown, Jean Christ of Columbus, OH, grandchildren, Bret Michael Wyers and Hannah Riehl of Girard, OH and her beloved pets, Whitey and Sweet Pea. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Harold Jones, Jr. Memorial Calling hours will be held from 2 - 3 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2012 with a Memorial Service starting at 3:00 PM, at the Freedom Congregational Church (Corner of Rt. 88 and Rt. 303) in Freedom, Ohio. Rev. Jim Melick will be officiating. Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
