Wayne E. Pratt

Wayne E. Pratt 84 of Rootstown passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at his residence. He was born May 9, 1940 in Ravenna, Ohio to William C. and Doris Virginia (Shaw) Pratt. Wayne served in the US Army Reserves and worked for Flintkote and Pultrusions. He was a member of the Rootstown Lions Club and had served as King Lion. He was a member of the 1958 Rootstown football team that won the victory bell. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Janis (Ford), daughters Linda (Randall) McCoy, Jeanette (Terry) Goodnight and Michele (Thomas) Ritchie, grandchildren Jennifer (Shane) Talkington, Matthew (Melissa) McCoy, Nicholas Goodnight, Joshua (Katelyn) Goodnight, Tristan Goodnight, Virginia (TJ Miguel) Ritchie and Carolyn (Daniel) Whetstone, great grandchildren McKenna, Evelyn, Maverick, Ava, Aiden and Naomi and siblings Lynn Pratt,  Kaye Allison,  sister in law DeeDee Pratt and many neices and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Steven and a brother Dale Pratt. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Ravenna Masonic Temple, 4785 Washington Avenue in Ravenna. Private burial will be in Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.
