Willard "Bill" G. Jones

Willard (Bill) G. Jones, 68 from Wickliffe, formerly of Kent, went into eternal rest Friday, April 1, 2016 after a battle with ALS and COPD. He was born September 3, 1947 in Ravenna, Ohio to Johnson C. and Eileen M. (Hamilton) Jones. Bill was a US Army Veteran proudly serving in the Vietnam War where he received the Bronze Star Medal. Also he was a member of the Kent American Legion and a devoted member of AA since February 1, 1989. He worked for Cal Gas in Kent for several years before taking over one of the family’s Mexican restaurants, El Charrito, with his wife Olivia in Wickliffe.  They successfully worked it together for 28 years.  Shortly after they sold the business he returned to work for the Mayfield School System. Survivors include his wife of 32 years Olivia (Costilla), sons Willard Jones Jr. and Timothy Jones (Nicole) of Kent and 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Rachael, Nathan, Nolan and Taryn. Calling hours will be from 10AM until time of funeral service at 12 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Chaplain Mark Telepak will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Louis Stokes Wade Park ALS Unit, 10701 East Blvd, 128(W), and Cleveland, OH 44106.
