William “Bill” Edward Oshinsky, age 91, went to his heavenly home on June 10, 2026. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Shirley (Coughenour), and siblings Eleanor Yankto and Robert Oshinsky. He is survived by daughters Colleen Bennett (Ken), Carla Kaiser, siblings Barbara Novsek (Richard), Elaine Rockwell (Del), grandchildren Brett Kaiser (Hallie), Lauren Rump, Halle Rump, and great-granddaughter Keltie Kaiser. He was a dear brother-in-law to Gary (Rose) Coughenour, and adored uncle and godfather to many nieces and nephews.
Bill was born in Redstone Township, Pennsylvania to parents William J Oshinsky and Julia Phillips. He met his wife Shirley when they were young teenagers, often helping her with math homework and walking miles along the train tracks to visit her. They were married on July 21,1956 and moved to Cleveland, Ohio shortly after.
Bill served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service, Bill and Shirley settled in Streetsboro, Ohio where they raised their two daughters. Bill was proudly employed at Ford Walton Hills Stamping plant for 31 years and enjoyed remaining close to coworkers and friends as a retiree, often attending gatherings and events. Bill was an extremely hard worker, never faltering in providing for his family with side jobs during the auto recession.
Bill’s interests ranged from learning about science and technology in magazines, newspapers, or reading a good book, to rooting for Cleveland sports teams. He loved listening to polka music and attending polka festivals. He and Shirley enjoyed traveling, going on many road trips and cruises, as well as summer vacations with their daughters and grandchildren to Myrtle Beach.
Bill always said that “no matter what you do in life, you always do your best.” His family can confidently say that he was the best husband, dad, and grandpa, steadfast in his support and care for them. He shared recently that he felt spoiled by being blessed with the family that he had, but his family knows that they really are the spoiled ones. His kindness and sweet smile will be remembered by all that had the privilege of being warmed by them.
Calling hours will be from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel with Reverend Gordon Blickle officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. Condolences and memories of Bill may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
