William S. Dones

William S. Dones, 89, passed away October 7, 2011 at his home following a short illness.  He was surrounded by his daughter, family and friends.  Bill was born January 20, 1922 in Troy Township.  He was a veteran of WWII and served in the Philippines.  After being discharged from the Army, he met Donna Fleshman at the Geauga County Fair and was married to her for 62 years.  Donna preceded him in death in February, 2009. They lived in Aurora and ran the Bissell Farm until 1972.  At that time they moved to Mantua and Bill went to work for the Coca Cola Bottling Company where he retired in 1987. He is survived by his daughter, Monica Noble of Mantua Township, granddaughter, Kimberly Noble of Estero, Florida, sister, Joann Hodder and brother George Dones both of the Warren area and sister-in-law, Ramona Barney of Colts Neck, New Jersey. Also by his special niece, Bonnie Trent of Ravenna, loving friends, Nancy Fritinger and Susan Thompson, all of whom gave love, laughter, care and comfort. Cremation has taken place.  He will be laid to rest beside his wife at West Lawn Cemetery in Mantua Township.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Robinson Visiting Nurse & Hospice, 6847 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna, Ohio, 44266, in Bill’s name.
