William “Bill” L. Pigg

April 17, 1941 – November 30, 2019

Bill, age 78, passed away peacefully at home after an extended battle with Parkinson’s.  Bill was born in Cruthersville, Missouri and his family moved to Ravenna, Ohio when he was still in school. He enjoyed fishing from his boat, woodworking, golfing, bowling and making beef jerky.  Bill was a meat cutter for most of his life before retiring.  He loved spending time with his nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His sense of humor, love of pranks and heart of gold made Bill fun to be around for all.  Bill proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam war.  He enjoyed traveling with Jill to go golfing around the United States with his sister-in-law Shirley (Dibert) Price and her husband Dick Price.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, first wife Rosalind (Hayden) Pigg, daughter Kathleen (Pigg) Pratt, and grandson “Little Billy” Pigg.

He is survived by his second wife Jill (Dibert) Pigg, children Billy Pigg (Tanya), Eric VonDibert, Cindy (Pigg) Talbott, and Teresa (Ott) Ewart (John), 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to either the American Parkison’s Disease Association ( www.apdaparkinson.org ) or to Crossroads Hospice( www.crossroadshospice.com ) in Bill’s name.

Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM on Wednesday December 4, 2019 and on Thursday December 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM until tim of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, 141 N Meridian Street, Ravenna, OH.  Bill will be laid to rest beside Rosalind at the Grandview Memorial Park at 5400 Lakewood Rd, Ravenna, OH.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
