William P. Nichols 95 of Ravenna died Wednesday, September 4, 2013. He was born September 9, 1917 in Ravenna to Gerald and Flora (Parker) Nichols. A US Army veteran of WWII, he was a farmer and retired from Paeco Rubber in Ravenna where he spent 30 years as a rubber worker and foreman. He spent his entire life on the farm where he was born and enjoyed woodworking and traveling. Survivors include his daughters Judith Nichols McArthur of Victoria, TX and Andrea (Jeff) Heiney of Ravenna, sons Gregg (Cindy) Nichols of Ravenna , Eric (Stacy) Nichols of Randolph and Joel Nichols of Ravenna, grandchildren Bruce, Brandon, Alyssa, Jason, Matt, Ryan, Leah and Olivia and great grandson Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Pauline Nichols. Calling hours will be from 9 AM to time of service at 10 AM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with Reverend Tracy Ogden Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Robinson Memorial Hospice, 6847 N. Chestnut Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
