William W. Wellhausen, Sr.

William W. "Bill" Wellhausen, Sr. 75 of Rootstown passed away Monday July 26, 2010 at Akron City Hospital.  He was born November 8, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Charles Arthur and Mildred (Misch) Wellhausen.  He has lived in Rootstown the past 40 years and was formerly of Cleveland.  Bill retired in 1999 from Furon where he worked as an extruder and was veteran of the US Air Force.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, the Young at Heart Club, Ravenna Senior Center and a former member of the Black Hatter.  He loved spending time with his family, his birds and enjoyed fishing.  Survivors include his wife of 35 years Arlene (Velisek) Wellhausen, children Dave (Becky) of Ravenna, Debbie (Bill) of Garrettsville, Bob (Janet) of Streetsboro,  Mary Ann (Kyle) of Kent, Michael of Indiana, Bill, Jr. (Stef) of Rootstown, Joseph "Joe" of Rootstown, grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Heidi, Kristina, Heather, Tiffany, Ashley, Patrick, Jessica, Amanda, Karen, Hailey, Taylor and soon to be a grandfather again and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his son Scott, granddaughter Angela and brother Charles Arthur Wellhausen II.  Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday July 29, 2010 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday July 30, 2010 with Fr.
