Albert Matas Obituary

Albert Matas, age 88, of Niles, Ohio went to be home with the Lord on April 5, 2021. Albert was born in Johnstown, PA on September 16, 1932. His parents were Karol and Mary (Rusnak) Matas and he was the sixth child of sixteen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers John, Carl, Joseph and David and his sisters Mary Fabry and Mildred Burda. He retired from Packard Electric/Delphi in Warren, Ohio where he worked for 35 years. He is a veteran of the U.S Army and served as a Medical Technician. He is survived by his three children, Mark (Keri) of Costa Mesa, CA; Pamela Nalywaiko of Anderson, IN; and Aaron; and best friend, Lorraine Hafner of Berlin Center, OH. He is also survived by five brothers-Paul (Phoenix, AZ), Daniel (Masury, OH), Raymond (Ravenna,OH), Ronald (Anderson, IN), Donald (Lilburn, GA), and four sisters-Ruth Oravec (Johnstown, PA), Caroline Britten (Rochester Mills, PA), Dorothy Marley (Johnstown, PA), and Martha Fabick (Cortland, OH). Albert loved the Lord and was active in his church. He was a member of the Hubbard, OH Church of God and Transfer, PA Church of God. He loved the old hymns and enjoyed singing in specials in church. He also taught Bible classes at the CL Lane Bible Institute in Transfer, PA. His latest and favorite saying was "I am so blessed."  A family dinner will be held in Albert's memory on Sunday April 11, 2021 in Niles, Ohio.
