Alex F. Szekely 82 of Streetsboro passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at his home. He was born October 10, 1930 in Garfield Heights to the late Alexander and Hermina (Bartus) Szekely. Alex served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Church of the Open Bible in Bedford, and the Streetsboro V.F.W. He was a truck driver till he retired in 1993 when he and his wife started traveling the southern states, He also enjoyed gardening, pruning trees, and would take in any stray animal he found. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Arlene (Weeks) Szekely, daughters, Juanita Beck of Streetsboro, Vickie (Tom) Cristall-Addams of Shalersville, Kim (John) Humphrey of Bedford, Sandi Pleasant of Aloha, Oregon, a son, Tony Szekely of Streetsboro, grandchildren, Larry, Joshua, Jennifer, Danielle, William, Nicole, Stephanie, Tabatha, Alex, and 3 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded by sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. Calling hours will be held from 3:00 PM till time of the service at 7:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel, 9781 Page Road Streetsboro, OH. 44241. Pastor Rex Cain will be officiating the service. A private burial will take place at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, OH.
