On Monday, June 07, 2021, Ann F. (Rote) Mack, loving wife, mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord at the age of 96. Ann was born on June 02, 1925 in Owl’s Nest, Pennsylvania to Charles and Frances (Petrich) Rote. The youngest of the family, Ann stayed home after 8th grade to care for her ailing mom until she died. Ann married Ralph in 1948 and had one daughter, Carole (Mack) Wolbert. Carole and her husband, Nelson gave Ann and Ralph four grandchildren: Nelson, Jr., Jeffrey, Andrea and Bethany. And eventually her grandchildren gave her eight great grandchildren: Kayla, Devin, Jordyn, Addison, Malachi, Nathan, Brooke, & Aidan. Until quite recently, Ann was very active in the Slovenian Club in Fairporte Harbor and in 2008 received the Woman of the Year Award. Ann’s activities were always around people - working as a waitress, being a 4H leader, helping out at the Slovenian Club, sewing keepsake bears for those who lost loved ones, and making lap blankets for wounded warriors. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her siblings Charles, Mary (Rote) Grzely, Matthew & Frank; her husband Ralph and some of her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter Carole, her husband Nelson, grandchildren Nelson, Jr., Jeffrey, Andrea (Wolbert) Geark and Bethany (Wolbert) Gano; her great grandchildren; as well as well loved nieces and nephews. Per “Grannie Annie’s” request we will be holding a small graveside service to celebrate her amazing life on Monday June 28th at noon at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers kindly make a donation to: St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro; Crossroads Hospice 3743 Bottler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Uniontown 44685 as they were amazing in making her final weeks comfortable; or Hospice of the Western Reserve working through them she made the lap blankets. Condolences and memories of Ann may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
