Anthony C. Newkirk Obituary

Anthony C. Newkirk, 66, of Streetsboro, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. He was born January 7,1957, in Ravenna, Ohio, to Alvin C. and Carol M. (Ables) Newkirk. Anthony was a US Marine Corps Veteran and a jack of all trades. Over the years he was a carpenter, farmer, firefighter, security guard, landscaper, and property manager, among other pursuits.  He was not just a husband, father, uncle, brother, and grandfather, he was a friend to many. The most important thing in his life was family. Anthony was a jokester with a heart of gold and took pride in helping those in need. He enjoyed model-making, camping and the great outdoors, drawing, spending nice days doing yard work, and perusing yard sales.  A hero to his family and to the world, Anthony should never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Desiree Newkirk. Survivors include his wife Nancy J. (Champlin); children Shawn Newkirk, Amber Newkirk (Christina Woodson), Angela Newkirk and Danielle Fox; grandchildren Jonathan Mulloy, Maria Mulloy, Jayden Vazquez, , Nevaeh Fox, Aubrey Fox, Stephanie Vazquez and Andriana Rodiguez: great grandchild Jionni Vazquez; sister Maryellen Head and niece Jennifer Luna. Cremation has taken place per Anthony’s wishes. Memorial calling hours will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
