Arthur C. Broadbent

Arthur C. Broadbent, 81, of Ravenna died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 2, 1935 in Wellsville, Ohio to the late Arthur Edward and Helen Leah (Scott) Broadbent. Bud wore many hats. In addition to being an amazing husband, father, and friend, he was also a truck driver, pilot, fisherman, gardener, ice cream and pizza maker, food critic, and chicken farmer. He enjoyed fishing on the Susie J, spending time with his family, and hosting “small” 4th of July fish frys with a few of his close friends. These intimate gatherings usually included a circus sized tent and fireworks that would stop traffic along the bridge. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Mary Ann (LeDonne), children Arthur E. (Suzanne) Broadbent, Jennifer Chinn, Steven (Shelley) Broadbent, Kelly (Will) Hilton, sister Mary Helen Powell; 9 grandchildren: Sam and Amanda Chinn, David and Julianne Broadbent, Hillary, Abigail, and Zachary Broadbent, Eli and Keira Hilton, and his canine companion, Sophie.  Bud “loved his family one and all.” He will be missed. At his request, there will be no calling hours or services. Bud’s last fish fry will take place in the summer. Details to follow.
