I’ve thought long and hard about what to write, but there will never be any words that will do justice.
At 8 am on the 1st of August, my beautiful, kind, loving and funny wife and best friend passed away after a long and brave battle against Ovarian Cancer. Her beloved husband Neil was with her as she passed away peacefully. Our hearts are broken - there will be a piece missing forever but heaven has now gained a special angel. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. I’m sad that you are gone, but I’m grateful for the 45 years we had together.
Barb grew up in Brecksville with her brother Jeff Biro and was a Brecksville High School and Miami University graduate. After several short teaching stints in Philadelphia and Dayton, Barb spent several years working at NCR Corporation in Dayton. Following a relocation to Cleveland, Barb enjoyed a long and successful 25 year career at the Cleveland Clinic. Everywhere she worked, colleagues enjoyed a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. She loved her house, keeping it looking like new. She enjoyed spending weekends in the fall watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and her beloved Cleveland Browns.
From the day she was diagnosed, Barb was a fighter till the very end – she fought and fought and fought for three years, until she could fight no more. Even while she was sick, she would do anything for anybody, and she often prioritized the needs of others before hers.
I will never be able to express how much Barb appreciated the love and prayers that she received from family, including her niece and nephews, and friends. I truly believe the thoughts and prayers she received during her illness enabled her to fight so much longer. She showed love to so many people, and at the same time, that love was returned to her in spades by so many.
God only knows how much I love you Barb. You were truly an angel on earth. Can’t wait to be together with you again in Heaven for life everlasting.
